In the second part of the overview reasoning with fuzzily de ned quanti ers and applications are presented Possibility based reasoning This work has been supported by the International Projects of the Flemish Community Cooperation with P R China No is summarized in detail The widely used quanti er extension principle and various reasoning schemas derived from it are discussed Some disad vantages of the quanti er extension principle are pointed out Although interval valued quantifers are only a special case of general quanti ers some speci c properties and results arise from them Furthermore they suggest another approach to inference with fuzzy quanti ers Reasoning with quanti cation and several kinds of quali cation is introduced This kind of reasoning requires a seamless synthesis of probability theory pos sibility theory fuzzy logic and belief theory At last the applications of fuzzily de ned quanti ers in decision making and fuzzy database systems are introduced
